Our son Mason turned fourteen recently. Hard to believe, seems like yesterday that we were giving him a bath in the kitchen sink. Geez. Here is a sketch of our cool teenager.

I drew this on my iphone using Skechbook. Which is now my favorite app for drawing.

I have been having a really good time sketching on my iphone. Using an iphone to draw on is sort finger painting meets Captain Picard. I have been trying out two apps, Brushes and Layers. They are both nice, no clear winner yet for me. What I really like is having a full blown color palette and sketchbook that I can put in my pocket with me. Below is a sketch I did last night (using a limited three color palette).

I was happy to be asked to do another illustration for Edible Austin. The story was about the food trailers that are popping up around town. Torchy’s is one of our favorites and I kind of had it in mind while working on this.

Our incredible radio station KUT and designer Ellen Buckmaster asked me to do some illustrations for a fundraising piece. KUT is hoping to build a new facility that will allow them to function more efficiently and interact with the public. Currently they are underground, up and down stairs and all over the place.
