We been have been having a lot of great tomatoes at our house. They always look so beautiful on our kitchen counter.
Here is another painting of tomatoes from our kitchen window sill. Something about veggies in the kitchen. It is comforting.
A couple of heirloom tomatoes hanging out on thew windowsill waiting for dinner. Drawn while hanging out with my lovely wife in the kitchen. Makes me happy.
We got some artichokes in our box of veggies this week. Pretty. Here is one sitting on the blanket next to me. Procreate and Sensu Brush. Actually this was done on the 13th but I am sneaking it in here.
We are getting some fabulous veggies from Hairston Creek Farm.
These were on the counter awaiting instructions.
Some carrots, beets, garlic, and asparagus (in a glass container) on the kitchen counter. Daylight fading fast.
Our boxes of veggies from Hairston Creek Farm have been plentiful lately. Lots of roasted veggies in our future :-)
Our winter shares of veggies are pretty amazing. We unload our box and the counter is filled with veggie goodness.
I didn’t have my sensu brush with me as I did this one. Missed it. I’m off tomorrow for Frankfurt, Germany to demo the sensu brush at a big trade show. Fun.
Some peeled radishes in a lovely fire king mixing bowl.
Go Giants. Those were great games this weekend.

Late morning painting of the live oak next door.
A lovely eggplant from our farmer. Looks a bit like a jelly bean with a stem... I really like the idea that jelly beans would grow on a vine :)
The first eggplant painting.

Another in the CSA series. Our box is getting thin, I’m sure due to this nasty drought we are having. But these peppers look good and hot. / In private collection

I decided to paint a 5 x 7” version of the carrots painting from Saturday. Not bad.

Appropriately this is titled 101. It feels a bit like an entry level class in painting to me. I broke some rules here and painted on 9x12 panel, I should have adjusted the composition but didn’t. I thought I could work it. I think I will work it out by painting over it :) The underpainting was the Courtyard and Roof painting from long ago. Below is a cropping of the image. If I had stuck with my parameters it would have looked more like this. Which, could have been keeper...

I never ate beets as a kid. I love them now (I really like the right side of this painting). / In Cooper/Wilson collection

It’s raining! Which is really exciting for us in Austin. We had some carrots last night and the tops (minus the greens which we ate previously) were trimmed off and became the subject of Wednesdays daily painting. note the background is more yellow than green.
